Last month I talked about owning a good navy suit. In that post, I showed off my suit in classic style. A white shirt and tonal tie and voila, the perfect suited look. For part 2 of my second look from one suit, I’m going for a bit more casual suit style.
With just a few adjustments, my look goes from executive office to night on the town. Simply losing the tie, unbuttoning the shirt and swapping the shoes gives off a totally different vibe. In an instance, I’ve got my second look out of that same navy suit.
One of the great things I love about DC is that there are so many events happening throughout the city. From galas and parties, new restaurant and building openings to rooftop parties and other must do events there’s always an opportunity to pull together a great look. Sometimes just the simplest adjustments can make a great look. A casual suit style is a great evening out look.
Don’t get me wrong, I love wearing a suit and tie. But it’s nice to be a little more relaxed. Sneakers with a suit are an easy way to dress down the look. Plus there are so many options. I suggest choosing sneakers that are either all black or all white. With a navy suit, I’d opted for the white but with the classic Adidas stripe. For the more daring, try shoes in red or some other pop of color.
Going to try the no tie? Try a shirt with French cuffs. Roll the extra material of the cuff over your suit jacket. While some may scoff at the idea and say you’re bucking the traditional rules, it creates an edgy yet fun look. I say buck tradition and create your second totally different look from the same navy suit. I’d love your thoughts on my casual suit style.

Loving both of these looks!
Smart confident look! I think instead of always sporting formal looks with suits, fashion designers should promote such off-beat looks. I like it very much. My hubby too liked it.
Thanks so much!!!
