Since this was my first time attending Miami Swim Week, I was at a loss of what I was going to wear while attending the shows. I wanted to go for a resort vibe but I was not 100% sure of what to take. Interestingly a couple of weeks before Ieaving, Dior launched its Dior Jardin men’s capsule collection.
The new Dior Jardin Men’s collections is a homage to Christian Dior’s love for gardening. “Dior and Kim Jones are celebrating the most cherished of feelings with the rose-studded Dior Jardin men’s capsule. In homage to Monsieur Dior’s passion for nature, the collection’s unique pieces are thus studded with the ‘queen of flowers.’“ Dior got much of his inspiration from his love of gardening. In fact, in designing his debut collection which would be known as the “New Look”, he said, “I drew women-flowers, soft shoulders, fine waists like liana and wide skirts like corolla.”
Even without knowing the history, there was something that drew me to this capsule. The small collection features pieces in white with pink roses or black with turquoise roses. And in its short time since its release, some of the items have been difficult to get. However, I thought this would be a fun look to showcase down in Miami.
Styling the Dior Jardin Men’s Capsule Collection
To kick off my look, I started with the Dior Jardin sweater in white silk and cotton. The sweater offers a modern interpretation of the Dior signature. Crafted in white silk and cotton jersey stitch, it is distinguished by the printed and embroidered Dior Rose motif on the front. The sweater is shown with floral shorts. Unfortunately, neither these shorts nor the other pink shorts shown in the collection have been available. The sweater is going fast!
I needed an alternative for the unavailable shorts. Fortunately, I found a pair from Dior’s Pre-fall 2019 collection. The Pre-Fall collection featured pieces from a collaboration with Hajime Sorayama. Sorayama is an artist/illustrator known for his “sexy robot” imagery. If you look closely, you can see several of the robots in my shots. The robots are set among pink cherry blossoms and work well with the sweater. The shorts are no longer available but you may be able to find them on the secondary market. If you’re trying to create my look, try check out these alternatives.

This was my final look that I wore during Miami Swim Week. I completed the look with pink socks, white trainers and pink lensed sunglasses. How’s this for a resort look?
