Have you been to Sequoia lately? Maybe you should. That was the idea when I invited some of my favorite DC influencers to a Be Seen at Sequoia dinner. The restaurant recently went through a multi million dollar transformation and having just eaten there a few weeks before, I thought it would be nice to re-introduce the restaurant to some of my friends.
Sequoia has long been a go to restaurant for special occasions or the place to take out of towners. In addition, it’s been known for its ridiculously spectacular brunches. But it’s really much more than that. With a great view of the Georgetown waterfront, some fantastic dishes and a couple of not to pass up dinner specials (Surf and Turf with a 3 ½ pound lobster on Wednesdays or their Tomahawk steak dinner on Thursdays, both for $50), Sequoia is really a restaurant worth hitting for more than a special evening out.
My thought was to gather a few friends for an evening of fun. Naturally when you gather a bunch of influencers together, they want to document the whole affair. From their outfits, the meal and the beautiful setting that’s exactly what they did. To that extent, the entire evening was a success! Visit the gallery to sneak a peak at some of the dishes we dined on. Make sure you subscribe to The DCFashion Fool to find out about and be invited to future DCFashion Fool events!
Since Sequoia is located in Georgetown, I also wanted to showcase some of the other great things about this part of town. Not only did we have a fun night but guests left with some great swag including some Sequoia treats and additional surprises from some other Georgetown spots. South Moon Under gave the ladies adorable kimonos while the guys received some nifty graphic tees. In addition, Kiehl’s gave everyone their Butterstick Lip Treatment. Not only will we continue to be fashionable but we’ll all have the softest lips in the city!

My invitation said come dressed to impress and as the host you know I was bringing my A game. I chose a deep purple plaid suit from Moods of Norway. Sadly the company has gone out of business so tracking it down will be pretty tough. However the fabric is by Reda and many custom suit companies such as Indochino carry that fabric so you may be able to find that pattern or something similar.
