This is an interesting time for men’s fashion. We are still heavily in the business casual or athleisure mode but there’s still a demand for a great looking suit. That’s why I was really excited for the opening of a new Suitsupply store in the Washington area. I’ve been a fan of the brand since the opening of the Georgetown location so I figured another store in the area would be fantastic.
I love the aesthetic of Suitsupply with its modern fit and great styles. I’d been a fan of their New York Fashion Week Men’s Presentations. It’s one of the most visually appealing presentations of the season. The looks are incredible and the quality for the price point is fantastic. I mean full canvas jackets with real working sleeve buttons? Suitsupply will do amazing in Tysons Galleria.
You know me I love to rock a good suit. I’ve wanted a windowpane patterned one for some time. I just never found the right one that spoke to me. It’s a bold choice and I figured I was up for the challenge. I immediately fell in love with this version at Suitsupply and immediately snapped it out.
I was really excited to wear my new suit to the opening. One of my challenges was how to style it. I don’t think you always have to wear head to toe one brand. In this way you can make a look your own. Fortunately, I received my October Sprezzabox (Ugh, mailman delivered it to the wrong house.) and it was the perfect match.
If you are buying your first suit or don’t wear one on a regular basis. I’d recommend sticking with a nice navy or charcoal suit. The windowpane pattern is probably not you’re first suit. Choose a suit with a light pattern but I wouldn’t get anything too flashy. You want something that can give you a lot of versatility so you can have a lot of options. However a windowpane is an excellent choice if you’d like something more unique.
Have you had a chance to check out Suitsupply or what do you think of my look? I’d love to know your comments.
