Now that spring is here, I was excited to pick up some great spring staples to help kick off the season. And if you’ve been following me for a while, you know I like to find great clothes at all price points. So when the season’s change, I say it’s time to refresh the wardrobe.
Last year, I had the opportunity to style some looks with Walmart Fashion. And while I picked out some fantastic looks, they were all from established brands that I’ve been pretty fond of. However, I’ve never really checked out some of the in-house brands at Walmart. When I heard Brandon Maxwell had become the creative director for two of Walmart’s exclusive brands, I was eager to check them out. Free Assembly is one of those brands that really got my attention.
Launched in 2021, Free Assembly is Walmart’s private label brand featuring stylish essentials for the whole family. What’s nice is that the price point are very affordable and what I liked about Free Assembly was the ability to create a fantastic look using some great spring staples.
I started with the oversized striped t shirt. The shirt is reminiscent of a short sleeve rugby shirt. It’s a thicker tee. It’s a great layering piece but perfect on its own. Plus, the bold yellow and white stripes just shout spring. Next up were dark washed denim. These jeans have a modern slim fit with a bit of stretch. I was shocked how well they fit and are quickly becoming one of my favorite pair of jeans. I finished it off with a sky blue waterproof shell. The jacket is the perfect transition piece for spring. It’ll be ideal when the April showers come around.
