Usually when choosing accents to a look picking red can be big bold and bright however with this latest look I think I have a little of both.
I hadn’t planned this latest combination however sometimes you get creative when in a bind. I was heading to a birthday party out of town and wanted to wear a blazer. Somehow I forgot the one I was planning to wear so I needed something quick. Normally if I buy a blazer I have to have it altered before I can wear it but I figured if I played my cards right I’d might be in luck.
Luck was on my side and sometimes, fast fashion does work in your favor. I found this blazer at H&M for less than $100 and it really didn’t need much alteration so I could wear it that night. What to wear with it? I opted for a light blue shirt with a red windowpane pattern. This is where the red accessories came into play.
The shirt is great for spring. The red pops but it’s not too overbearing. So I paired it with a red tie that matched the windowpane in the shirt to bring out the color. Worn with the blazer it’s a terrific this season, a nice tonal look with a contrasting color Adding a pair of jeans and I was ready for a fantastic party.
Trying this look yourself? Finish it off with a great pair of sneakers. What’s great is black or brown loafers would also work well, So for shoes, there are a variety of options. In my case this is where I threw subtlety out the window. If I’m going to incorporate red accessories why not finish with the shoes? After all, I was attending a party so these red accessories, my shiny red were the perfect finishing touch.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on my style. Drop me a line.
