During the afternoon session of New York Men’s Day, we witnessed a playful and chic side of menswear, featuring designers like Skyco Studios, Tarpley, Sebastian Ami, The Salting, and Raleigh Workshop. Let’s take a peek at some of my favorite looks. Read a recap of session one from an earlier post and more pictures of the collections can be seen at Men’s’ Life DC.
Skyco Studios
There was a playfulness to the Skyco Studios pieces. Even the camouflage print had a bit of flair with its colorfulness. There would be no disguising yourself in these looks. But it was the graphic prints on their suiting and casual wear that truly stole the spotlight.
Tarpley
Tarpley’s clothing exudes an adventurous spirit, as if wearers are ready for anything. While that may be true, I could also see myself looking equally fantastic just sitting still.
Sebastian Ami
Sebastian Ami’s collection draws inspiration from vintage photos taken at Mt. Rainier in 1966. Titled “Camping,” these outfits are perfect for a night out in the wilderness. Despite the casual vibe, there’s something undeniably chic about that 3-quarter length orange sweatshirt.
The Salting
If you’re looking to be comfortable while on vacation, look no further than the Salting. Billowy fabrics and light tailoring result in a collection that really considers comfort while creating an effortless style.
Raleigh Workshop
Raleigh returns to New York Men’s Day with its take on denim. The company is known for its handcrafted denim and once again did not disappoint. Raleigh’s mantra for the Spring/Summer 2024 collection is crystal clear: “Denim need not be boring!”
My Look
Once again, it’s Thom Brown for the win. The pieces are from multiple seasons, yet they all work so well together.
