Out in stores now and ideal for the fall and winter months is the Polo Shearling and Leather jacket. We love this coat for the season as it has a vintage look although it’s new for 2014. It is surely destined to become a classic and a go to favorite.
“Classic, to me, is something that’s timeless, enduring. The things that never go out of style. Polo, the kinds of clothes I design are the kinds of things I believe in, the kinds of things that last forever. I love things that stay,” according to Ralph Lauren.

This coat certainly lives up to his definition. With its rugged good looks and vintage styling, it’s not only handsome but also truly functional for the upcoming winter months ahead. Inspired by the WWII B-3 bomber jacket, it was designed to keep fighter pilots warm at altitudes of more than 30,000 feet.
To combat the early chill, wear the jacket over a plaid shirt paired with jeans and a sturdy hiking boot. For a quick dressy look, try it over a dress shirt and bow tie. Combining it with a thick wool sweater should provide more than adequate protection to conquer the harsher winter weather.
As the season’s change, it’s always nice to update our wardrobes. We leap through the pages of magazines to see the latest trends and rush to the stores to see what’s hot for the season. However as we prepare for fall 2014,some of the best advice comes from Ralph Lauren who says, “Don’t be today’s look. Be a look that’s timeless. Don’t try to be yesterday’s news.”
Look for the leather jacket at Polo stores in the Washington area. Locations are in Chevy Chase, Georgetown and Tyson’s Galleria. It is also available online at www.ralphlauren.com.
