I do love a new suit and I recently picked up a new one from Indochino. I have previously written about my positive experiences with the suiting company so I was excited to craft another terrific creation. With Black Friday sales in full effect, now is the perfect time to pick up a new suit. In as little as three weeks, you can get a a new suit just in time for the holiday season.
One of the things I love about designing my suit is the level of detail I can incorporate into the look. I always opt for the real working buttons and functionng booutonniere, Plus elements such as pick stitching along the lapel, an extra ticket pocket or the loop the back of the lapel to hold a pin so you don’t have to stick a pin through your jacket are some of the must have features that I love adding when designing my suiting. Plus who wouldn’t want to pick out some fun lining as apposed to the traditional boring lining typically found in off the rack suits?
In planning out my new suit, I wanted something that was perfect for the holiday season. I’m a big fan of a bold plaid and I think this pattern will make a statement at a holday party or two. But I also wanted a suit that wouldn’t be relegated to just one time of the year. I like to get many uses out of a suit. And I believe this one will get lots of use and be in heavy rotation.
How to style it
For a dressier look, I opted for silver accessories. A silver tie and pocket square give the suit an elegant look. With such a bold pattern I recommend going with a solid white shirt and accessories with no or minimal pattern. Too big of a pattern in the shirting, tie or pocket square can compete too much with the pattern in the suit. For a pop of color, I added fun beaded bracelets and a colorful watchband. To finish the look, I added high gloss chelsea boots. Guess I’m ready for the holiday party.
