For those who know me, know that I cannot say no to a cupcake and I have a special affinity for Sprinkles cupcakes. (Hint: my birthday is coming up!) My problem is that sometimes moderation is not my friend and I tend to overdue it. So shortly after the winter holidays I found myself with a New Year gut that I had worked so hard to lose just a couple of years ago.
With an unwanted belly, I was determined to make sure that I’d be beach ready by Memorial Day and I believe I’ve done it. How? I followed the 12-week Body for Life plan. I know it would work because I was a 2012 champion. See my success story or read my blog covering my progress.

To celebrate my success, I treated myself to this swimsuit by Charlie by Matthew Zink. I love the retro design, which is “a salute to the decadence of the late 1970’s and early 1980’s.” The Grecian leaf trim made be feel like a Greek god, which was a perfect look to celebrate a weight loss of 30 pounds. I’m looking forward to a season in the sun!
Summer’s coming but there’s still time for anyone to get ready. Just keep in mind these few things.  First, find something that works for you and stick to it. For me it was Body for Life. Secondly, set goals and continue to strive for them. Celebrate even the littlest of success; it’ll keep you motivated. And lastly, don’t beat yourself up if you slip sometimes, I do from time to time. No one is perfect.
