Sunday was the 2019 Oscars and while the awards had it share of surprises and upsets, the real show for many is what people were wearing on the red carpet. Naturally all eyes are on what the women were wearing but it was clear that the guys brought their sartorial best. Last year I decided to give my picks for the best dressed gentlemen. Once again I’m picking the sharpest dressed men. So here’s the DC Fashion Fool’s best dressed men of the 2019 Oscars.

 David Oyelowo

Oyelowo is no stranger to color on the red carpet. This year he brought his A game with a custom green velvet suit from Etro. The Black Panther star opted for a three piece suit with a chain closure.

Stephan James

The If Beale Street Could Talk actor also opted for Etro. James also went for color but he chose a deep red. To make his look pop, he chose white platform boots to complete his look.

Michael B Jordan

Another man crushing it in velvet was Michael B. Jordan. This time we were treated to a deep navy blazer. Subtle yet elegant.

Ryan Seacrest

Many people have been dissing Seacrest on his Oscar’s choice but I like it. Seacreast opted to where his own namesame distinction clothing. The dark floral brocade was nice contrast to all of the solid color suits. Moreover Seacrest’s line is something affordable that many man could easily copy.

Billy Porter

Sometimes taking a risk on the red carpet is well….risky. But Billy Porter was up for the challenge sporting an over the top tuxedo ball gown. Christian Siriano proves that he can design masterpieces for just about anyone. Porter wore it with confidence.

Chadwick Boseman

Chadwick Boseman was another man who opted for the non-tradition tuxedo. Boseman’s look by Givenchy featured a slightly longer brocade blazer with a fuller trouser.

Trevor Noah

The classic tuxedo is never out of style. Noah showed how well the sharp a guy can look in a beautiful black tuxedo. Noah added a little bite to his presentation speech dissing Mel Gibson. However is Salvatore Ferragamo tuxedo was perfection.

Joe Alwyn

Another example of a great classic can be see on Joe Alwyn. Alwyn’s main squeeze Taylor Swift may have been absent. However he still lit up the red carpet in his Tom Ford suit.

Bradley Cooper

Another gentleman proving you can’t go wrong with Tom Ford, was Bradley Cooper. Although he didn’t take home a golden statue, his look was award winning. Cooper’s look included one of the popular trends this season, the oversized butterfly bowtie.

Henry Golding

Let’s face it, Henry Golding can wear a paper bag and still look amazing. So a Ralph Laure Purple Label tuxedo is the farthest thing from a paper bag. The Crazy Rich Asian star rocked his tuxedoed look. He looked like a million bucks.
