This has been an interesting winter. We’ve had some bitterly cold days and as I’m sitting here it’s 60 degrees But let’s not forget it’s still winter. On the one hand, we’ve been fortunate that it has not been a lot of snow however the cold has still been a challenge for dressing. How do you dress for the winter but still stay comfortable inside? In other words, how do you dress to be comfy out in the cold as well as inside in the warmth?
My secret is to be comfy out in the cold as well as inside in the warmth is to dress in layers. One of the easiest things to do is to add a sweater to a suit. A simply accessory can change up the entire look of suiting. While my grey suit looks fantastic alone with the jacket and trousers, I like to add additional accessories to change up the look. For the Washingtonian Stylesetters party, I added a vest to change up the look. For winter, I went with a lightweight wool sweater.
A sweater is great as an added layer to combat the cold. But while it’s cold outside, most buildings are heated for warmth, Once inside that added layer can make me a little toasty. To get comfy, I can simply remove my blazer and still have a great look. With a v-neck sweater and bow tie, I create that collegiate preppy look. Although, I didn’t capture it, this v-neck sweater is actually a fun tie dyed pattern.
If you know me you know me you know I ‘m not a fan of cold weather but love the clothes of the season. I like style challenges. So I think I nailed how to be comfy out in the cold as well as inside in the warmth.
