Black Tie Optional?

When it comes to formal attire I’ve always been a fan of the classic tuxedo. There’s something about the timeless look that’s elegant and classic. When in doubt the classic tuxedo should be the go to look for black tie. In fact if you’re looking to invest a classic tuxedo will last you for years to come. However sometimes it’s good to change it up a bit. And what do you do if the invitation says, “Festive Attire” , “Creative Black Tie” or “Black Tie Optional?”

Depending on the occasion, sometimes even I breakaway from the classic black tie. Lately, I’ve been experimenting with my look. I’ve even opted for a little fun in my black tie attire. It’s my black tie optional choice.  Most recently it was at the Becky’s Fund Walk this Way Fashion event. Becky’s fund strives to bring awareness and end to domestic violence. Sport figures from most of the area’s professional teams took the runway while attendees dressed in the their fashionable finest for the event.

For this night, I changed up my classic tuxedo blazer for something fun. I was a guest of Stitched and chose this skulls dinner jacket from their collection. With the classic tuxedo I’m partial to the bow tie. But with this blazer I liked the idea of a straight black tie with this look.
