This fall I will be rocking my suit with Timberlands. Now that the weather is starting to turn cooler, I’m looking forward to wearing some great looking suit combinations. This year, I plan to try some different ways to sport a tailored look.
Over the last few years, business casual and athleisure have been the big buzzwords in men’s fashion. Guys are using these looks for everything from business to play to evenings on the town. While I don’t mind these looks from time to time, I love wearing a suit. One of my ways is to wear my suit with a smart casual boot.
For this latest blog post, I decided to jazz my suit with Timberlands. Most people are familiar with the rugged Timberland boots but the company also has a great selection of more casual sporty styles. I found a pair of chukka boots in an awesome shade of blue and decided to pair them with a suit.
I had a chance to try out my new boots with my suit as I walked around Capitol Hill. This hidden gem of Washington is starting to see an explosion of development with new restaurants and shops popping up all over. Interesting it’s still trying to retain some of its charm. I noticed that while stopping by The Maples on Capitol Hill. Although it’s been converted to modern residencesthis former hospital built in 1795 was once owned by Francis Scott Key and still has that old world charm.
If you’re looking for a great basis suit for this fall, start with a gray, blue or charcoal especially if it’s a first suit. These colors offer lots of options for great versatility and can be worn for a variety of functions. Keep reading my blog for future posts on other suit options.
This suit is a navy but in certain lights look gray. It’s a great suit to show off a colorful shirt and tie but this time I went with something a little subtler, a patterned shirt with a solid gray/blue tie. So how did I add pizzazz?? It was with the Timberland boots. They added a bit of color to my look and make my look a little more casual. It didn’t hurt that these boots were some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. The suit with Timberlands works!
