In Washington, the ideal place to be on a perfect spring day is outside especially if that day happens to fall on a weekend. I decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and go hit one of DC’s hidden gems, Meridian Hill Park.

The 12-acre park located in northwest DC was designed based off of an Italian aristocrat’s private residence. Dotted throughout are neat statues including one of Joan of Arc and a 13 tier cascading waterfall. It’s the largest of its kind in North America.

Although the fountains have not been turned on for the season, the park was still beautiful and an excellent place to enjoy an Iced Peach Green Tea Lemonade from Starbucks. Bustling with activity from sports activities, picnics and sunbathers, it was a great place to spend a lazy afternoon in the sun.

The almost summer like weather gave me the opportunity to sport cream John Varvatos Star USA cotton/linen sweater with cream and blue pinstriped Polo slacks also in cotton/linen. The espadrilles are by Solodus and can be found at stores like Nordstrom Rack and on Gilt with some styles as low as $10. A special shout out goes to Paul Wharton for the bracelet from his Unto Others Jewelry Line which benefitted the Capital Area Food Bank.

Great post! Meridian Hill Park is one of my favorite DC spots to enjoy our brief Spring. Love the touches of blue in your outfit.
