Before we plunge head first into spring, I thought it would be nice to take a look back at how we were bundled up back in February during New York Fashion Week. The photos, shot in front of Lincoln Center, are a nice goodbye as Fashion Week makes its exit from the famed tents to a new location.
Although it was an exciting time with the many shows, fabulous parties and celebrity sightings, it was also brutally cold. That didn’t stop the fashionistas from donning outlandish and often weather inappropriate attire in the hopes of being photographed for their daring street style.
I, however, tried to stay true to one of my fashion rules; “Fashion should be functional,” opting for a warm fuzzy coat, wool trousers and cashmere turtleneck. It is possible to still look good and fight the cold!
I love this coat by Billy Reid. Not only was it warm but the unique color combination stood out from the traditional blue, grays and browns that were spotted all over town. Other pieces in my look included wide leg pinstriped slacks and cashmere turtleneck with the famous polo player by Ralph Lauren, chelsea boots by Prada.
